In the automotive industry, data has become really a highly attractive issue. Since networked cars were implemented, a significant number of new business models and initiatives might arise due to the large amount of data gethered for example through the gps device.
But, given that several technologies belonging to different stakeholders may be involved in a single car, I think that it is important to establish which data belongs to each stakeholder.
In my view, perhaps the user who generates data with their kilometres driven, might want to get benefit from it. But, who owns the data? the user or to the GPS system provider? Difficult to say.
And, another issue, what happens when personal data is involved in it? I mean, when my car asks me, for example, to provide personal information to enrich the user’s experience. Where does all this data go?
In my car, for instance, I have the possibility to link it to my mobile device and, consequently, it might be possible that my telephone book is compromised in some way, right?
